Coordinator Bio

Transitional Deacon William De Oliveira is a licensed and accredited chaplain currently working to establish St. Alcuin Theological Studies within a prison in Columbus, Ohio. A native of Brazil, he brings both pastoral sensitivity and cross-cultural perspective to his ministry. He is scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood in August 2026 under St. Augustine Anglican Church, CACI.

Academic Qualifications

Transitional Deacon Oliveira holds a Master of Divinity and brings more than 20 years of broad experience in pastoral ministry and leadership formation.

The Columbus Study Center serves prisoners seeking a clear, foundational understanding and/or formal education in Christianity balanced in the Anglican Tradition.

The center’s model integrates Anglican doctrine, biblical interpretation, sacramental theology and practice, and applied ministry training into a unified formation process. Students engage through cohort-based seminars, structured online coursework, and intentional mentoring relationships. Faculty advisors offer individualized guidance, supporting each student’s academic progress, vocational discernment, and development as a faithful and effective leader.

The center is dedicated to education, the strengthening of a firm and stable foundation for spiritual growth, and the formation of faithful leaders. These men are prepared to serve those in need of God’s Word wherever they may be—proclaiming the Gospel with clarity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to Christ’s mission.
